Introduction
The article, Roswell - Anatomy of a Myth,  is a literate, smooth, and emotive
presentation of what Kent Jeffrey honestly believes to be true. Its craftsmanship
is such that it can convince people that it deserves a wide audience
(despite appearing previously in other venues). Kent is to be congratulated for
presenting a strongly-worded case that nothing of ufological interest occurred
at Roswell. Having said that, I must (as he already knows) disappoint my colleague
and state that I dis

Operations on the West Coast.??? Featured is the Battle of Los Angeles ??? cited by many as a UFO event. Also mentioned are Japanese attacks on the west coast, sightings and tracking of unidentified aircraft and ships, along the west coast of the United States and the balloon menace.??? Makes for interesting reading.

Abstract Ð An analysis of six cases of unexplained aerial phenomena observed by qualified observers over a twenty-year period in various parts of the Earth and in known physical conditions yields estimates of optical power output ranging from a few kilowatts to thousands of megawatts.

As I begin writing this report, the news is telling about a strange USAIR airplane crash in Pennsylvania. Next day a plane crashed in Moscow. CNN told about a fireball that was reported from Bakersfield, California, to Medford, Oregon. They said it occurred about 6 or 6:15 in the morning on Saturday, September 10 (1994) and was so bright that the light shining through windows woke up some people. They showed a house in San Rafael with a hole in the roof from a piece of something falling from the sky.

One of the mysteries involving the work of John W. Keely involves his Airship which was developed during the period of 1888 to 1893. Keely flew his airship for the first time in 1893. We have a drawing of the ship and it is very compact and has no hull.

Abstract Ð The alleged recovery of a crashed flying saucer and alien bodies
by the U.S. military near Roswell, New Mexico, in July 1947, has become
not only the most famous and publicized UFO case of all time, but also an
American icon. Unfortunately, with regard to serious UFO research, it has become
in effect a ª red herring,º diverting time and resources away from the
study of the actual UFO phenomenon. Compelling new evidence is examined,
including recently released 1948 military documents, a hypnotic session
with the most important living Roswell witness by a renowned expert in
the use of regression hypnosis for forensic purposes, and statements by former
members of the 509th Bomb Group and former officers from the Foreign
Technology Division at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Although the results
of this research are a disappointment to many, it should now become
patently obvious to anyone willing to look open-mindedly and objectively at
the facts that the Roswell debris was not of extraterrestrial origin.

Abstract Ð ª The Jim Ragsdale Storyº purports to be the only known firsthand
testimony to the alleged UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.
This testimony, in the form of an affidavit and a less formal conversational
account, was analyzed using Statement Validity Analysis (SVA) which is an
established technique for evaluating the credibility of forensic witness accounts,
and Fact Pattern Analysis which is a less formal procedure that complements
SVA. SVA indicated that the testimony was not consistent with
known features of memories for true events. Similarly, the fact pattern analysis
identified major factual inconsistencies as well as potential implausible
information. These findings suggest that ª The Jim Ragsdale Storyº is not
credible. Accordingly, the possibilities that the Ragsdale story represents a
deliberate fabrication
