2012: The Baghdad Battery

The Baghdad Battery, sometimes referred to as the Parthian Battery, is the common name for a number of artifacts created in Mesopotamia, in during the Iranian dynasties of the Parthian or Sassanid period (the early centuries AD), and probably discovered in 1936 in the village of Khuyut Rabbou’a, near Baghdad, Iraq. These artifacts came to wider attention in 1938 when Wilhelm König, the German director of the National Museum of Iraq, found the objects in the museum’s collections. In 1940, König published a paper speculating that they may have been galvanic cells, perhaps used for electroplating gold onto silver objects. This interpretation continues to be considered as at least a hypothetical possibility. If correct, the artifacts would predate Alessandro Volta‘s 1800 invention of the electrochemical cell by more than a millennium. Description and dating artifacts consist of terracotta jars approximately 130 mm (5 in) tall (with a one and a […] Read More

2012: The Great Pyramid of Garut?

Chris Kaplan A pyramid far older and larger than the Great Pyramid of Giza, may have been discovered in Indonesia. Mount Sadahurip in Garut, West Java, dubbed the “Garut Pyramid,” which has been undergoing verification tests by the Ancient Catastrophic Disaster Team to see if the mount is indeed based upon a man-made structure. By using geo-electric instruments, surveyors are measuring the resistance of the geological layers, while seeking additional funding to begin excavations. An initial survey determined that the structure is unlikely to be of natural formation. A 3D contour plot of topographical digital data supports the following hypothesis, “There exists an anomaly formation made of cinder cone located on a horizontal unconformity intrusion base.” Carbon-14 dating shows that the age of the ancient topsoil dates back to at least 6000 BC, while the age of the hard soil in the lower strat is from 7500 BC. 2012: Underwater Structure at Yonaguni, Japan

There is an underwater structure off the coast of Japan that appears to be earthworks created by an unknown civilization. The “Japanese Atlantis” has been covered in Graham Hancock’s book Underworld and more recently by the History channel’s Ancient Astronauts documentary series. The key fact about the site is that it is far below sea level now and would not have been above the water level for a very long time and might have been underwater for 10000 years or more. At that time, it would have been connected to the Asian mainland and of course, we have no information about sophisticated cultures that might have been responsible for such a creation. Some experts argue that structures could be natural formations. What makes it difficult is that there are existing artificial earthworks above the sea level in Japan, like the ancient castles in Okinawa and ancient grave sites, so […] Read More

2012: World’s First Known Religious Temple at Göbekli Tepe

Perhaps 12,000 years ago in what is now Turkey near the Syrian border, humans were constructing monumental stone works that are puzzling us today. The stunning thing about this site of ruins is that some of it is hardly ruined at all compared with Egyptian, Greek, Mayan or even the ruins of the Soviet Union only a few decades ago. Megalithic constructions built anywhere from 5000 to 20 years ago may be barely recognizable husks of their original splendor. In Göbekli Tepe, however, the people (an extremely mysterious unknown culture, except for what archeologists are just now discovering and guessing) buried these constructions presumably for safe keeping, creating the time capsule that was only recently discovered (sometime after 2000 the real significance of the site was realized). Some of the world’s most ancient religious carvings are the most cleanly carved and well-preserved once the rubble is removed. National Geographic’s […] Read More

2013: Archeologists baffled by discovery of 100 year old Swiss watch in 400 yr old tomb

Mystery as century-old Swiss watch discovered in an ancient tomb sealed for 400 years Archaeologists are stumped after finding a 100-year-old Swiss watch in an ancient tomb that was sealed more than 400 years ago. They believed they were the first to visit the Ming dynasty grave in Shangsi, southern China, since its occupant’s funeral. But inside they uncovered a miniature watch in the shape of a ring marked ‘Swiss’ that is thought to be just a century old. The mysterious timepiece was encrusted in mud and rock and had stopped at 10:06 am. Watches were not around at the time of the Ming Dynasty and Switzerland did not even exist as a country, an expert pointed out. The archaeologists were filming a documentary with two journalists when they made the puzzling discovery. ‘When we tried to remove the soil wrapped around the coffin, suddenly a piece of rock […] Read More

2014: 10,000 Year Old Rock Paintings Depicting Extraterrestrials & UFOs Discovered In India

Our ancient world continues to become more mysterious by the day, as 10,000-year-old rock paintings depicting possible extraterrestrials and UFOs have been found in Chhattisgarh, India. These can be added to the long list of mysterious and unexplained “ancient art” that seems to lend to the belief that our ancient world and the people who lived at that time had contact with beings that did not originate from this planet. According to archaeologist JR Bhagat, these paintings depict extraterrestrials. The Chhattisgarh state department of archaeology and culture is planning to seek the help of NASA and ISRO for research regarding the paintings. “The findings suggest that humans in prehistoric times may have seen or imagined beings from other planets which still create curiosity among people and researchers. Extensive research is needed for further findings. Chhattisgarh presently doesn’t have any such expert who could give clarity on the subject. The paintings are done in natural […] Read More

2014: Homo Habilis Specimen Still Not Found

Since the discovery of Otzi, in the Alps, on the border between Italy and Austria, and with the continual recession of glaciers across the world, there has been the hope of new archeological discoveries. A few finds http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/nepal-frozen-caveman-discovered-in-himalaya/ Nepal: Frozen Caveman Discovered in Himalaya Pokhara| A group of climbers on an expedition in the Himalaya Mountains, have stumbled upon a complexe of caverns that seem to have recently surfaced after a series of violent avalanches in the region. Inside one of the caves, the team of Norwegian and Swedish mountaineers, found the remains of a humanoid male from the paleolithic era. According to the primary analysis of the skeleton, it seems the bones belong to an adult male Homo habilis, which is believed to have lived from approximately 2.33 to 1.44 million years ago, during the Gelasian Pleistocene period. Further tests and analysis will be done to determine the […] Read More

2014: Marine Geologist discovers A Supposed 10,000 Year Old Yonaguni Monument, Dubbed Japanese Atlantis

Throughout history, civilizations have been born and lost countless times. In modern times through our accumulation of knowledge, we have tried to piece together a timeline of the rise and fall of civilizations. However, through new discoveries and the hard work of many researchers, anthropologists and archaeologists such as Graham Hancock more previously unknown civilizations are being looked at in a new light. One of these civilizations that have been gathering attention recently is the Yonaguni Monument on Okinawa Island in Japan’s southern islands, dubbed Japan’s Atlantis. A City From The Past? Amid controversy, the Yonaguni monument is a submerged rock formation that is thought to be the remnants of a 10,000-year-old Japanese civilization. It was discovered by Dive Tour operator Kihachiro Aratake in 1985. Masaaki Kimura a marine geologist at the University of Ryukyu in Japan has spent fifteen years diving amid the Yonaguni anomaly. Kimura over these […] Read More
