Why Is THIS Map Missing In The History Books?

By the age of 10, most children in the United States have been taught all 50 states that make up the country. But centuries ago, the land that is now the United States was a very different place. Over 20 million Native Americans dispersed across over 1,000 distinct tribes, bands, and ethnic groups populated the territory. Today, Native Americans account for just 1.5 percent of the population, and much of their history has been lost, particularly as today’s education system is sadly lacking when it comes to teaching the rich and complex history of the United States. Here we examine little-known facts about Native Americans, which should be included in every history book. TRIBES As of January, 2016, there are 566 legally recognized Native American tribes in the United States, as determined by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Prior to European contact, there were over 1,000 tribes, bands or […] Read More

Why Modern Cartographers Are So Impressed With This 16th-Century Map

In February 1580, Francisco Gali was headed across Mexico to the Pacific Ocean. A mariner and cartographer who’d crossed the Pacific more than once, he had been living in “New Spain,” as Europeans called that part of the world, and was likely on another official mission that would take him to Asia. To sail out, first he had to make his way down the country’s Atlantic coast to manage a narrower crossing to the Pacific. On his journey, he passed through the coastal towns of the east, where the mayors had a special request of him. Make us a map, they asked. The Spanish crown had instructed every locality in its colonial lands to send home maps of their regions. This was a new endeavor in 16th-century mapmaking: Most maps of the “New World” focused on the coastline, and these local maps were the first detailed efforts to chart […] Read More

Map Rock in Givens Hot Springs, Idaho

This large basalt rock was carved by ancient peoples to map the area of the upper Snake River, possibly as long as 12,000 years ago. The map is believed to have been carved by the Shoshone-Bannock natives long before European contact. It depicts the Snake and Salmon Rivers, as well as the animals and tribes that inhabited the territories in between. No one can decisively say what the carving’s purpose was, which only contributes to its mysterious, ancient allure. The carving might have provided a reference point for travelers and hunters—just by looking at the map they would have been able to navigate the region. There are also theories that the petroglyph was intended to match up with the constellations, and that it could even be used to track the migrations of buffalo, deer, sheep, and elk herds. Other historians offer that it’s unlikely the Shoshone would have put all their hunting knowledge on a […] Read More

The Buache Map: A Controversial Map That Shows Antarctica Without Ice

The Buache Map is an 18th century map commonly claimed to accurately depict the continent of Antarctica before it was buried by ice. By extension, it has been claimed that this map is evidence that an ancient civilization had mapped Antarctica when it was free from ice, and that it was based on this source that the Buache Map was drawn. However, t ere are arguments against this interpretation of the Buache Map, and the claim that the continent of Antarctica was known to a highly advanced ancient civilization long before it was ‘re-discovered’ by modern man in the early part of the 19th century.    Philippe Buache The Buache Map was drawn by a French geographer by the name of Philippe Buache de la Neuville, hence its name. The full title of this map (in French), however, is “Carte des Terres Australes comprises entre le Tropique du Capricorne […] Read More

500 Year Old Map Was Discovered That Shatters The “Official” History Of The Planet

Human history is quite an enigma. We know so little, and much of what we think we know seems to be highly questionable in the wake of new evidence, as well as pre-existing information that challenges our current understanding of the world. Our world is no stranger to unexplained mystery, and there are numerous examples of verified phenomenon, ancient monuments, books, teachings, understandings and more that lack any explanation and counter what we’ve already been taught. We are like a race with amnesia, able to put together small bits and pieces of our history yet unable to provide any sort of verified explanation. There are still many missing pieces to the puzzle. One great example is the Piri Reis map, a genuine document that was re-made (copied from older documents) at Constantinople in AD 1513, and discovered in 1929. It focuses on the western coast of Africa, the eastern […] Read More

Eggshell World Globe Might be the First to Depict The Americas

So there’s been something of a theme to my work of late; my research notes would have you believe that I’ve become a cartophile – that is, a lover of maps (not to be confused with a lover of baseball cards).  I admit, I do love maps.  Especially antique maps, ancient maps.  But it’s more of a passing fancy than an obsession, though I’m about to make that a little less believable. I’ve brought you the story of ancient celestial spheres, also known as Islamacate Spheres.  I’ve discussed the peculiarities of famous maps out of antiquity, such as the Piri Reis and the Dulcert 1339 maps.  I’ve even examined the case for early Greek celestial knowledge through rudimentary star maps on pottery.  I’ve shared with you all the various forms of maps, from portolan charts, to globes, to celestial spheres and everything in between. Today though… today I bring […] Read More

Dolores Cannon’s Nostradamus Map

This map shows the North American continent after the Earth shift. Striped lines are existing large water masses. White areas are existing land. Black areas are remaining land that will be above water after the Earth shift. This map and the above description are from the book, Conversations with Nostradamus (Vol. 2), page 296, by Dolores Cannon. Dolores emphasizes that this is a worst case scenario. In her book, Dolores has a total of six maps covering other parts of the world. She also explains why some of this will happen in particular areas of the country. For more information I suggest your read the book. Related articles 1908: the Smoky God Earth Grounding – The Ultimate Healing Technique?
