Computers Possessing Humans and Our Perception of AI

We live in an age where reliance on computers, machines, and artificial intelligence is becoming stronger and more commonplace, inescapable to the point that society would cease to function as we know it without these things. As we progress on into the future there is every indication that these artificial intelligences will continue to evolve to the point that they equal us and perhaps even surpass us. Far from strictly the realm of science fiction, this is almost a certainty at the rate we are progressing, and it is at the stage now where we are learning that we are perhaps Continue Reading

Robots Will Either Kill, Enslave or Save Humans

Should we fear robots or embrace them? That question gets more difficult to answer every day as new announcements are released about robotic achievements and advances in artificial intelligence. Just in the past week we’ve seen a realistic robotic dog that can open a door and fight off a human who tries to stop it, a realistic walking humanoid robot that puts out fires, a call to equip robots with kill switches, a warning that robots will use humans as guinea pigs and a call to be cautious rather than dystopic. Which one is it? Boston Dynamics, a world leader in Continue Reading

First ‘Mind-Reading’ AI Can Literally See Your Thoughts

Last month, AI researchers at computing hardware manufacturer Nvidia developed a neural network which was able to ‘imagine’ scenes or images it had never seen before. This, naturally, led to a great deal of nervous hand-wringing by neo-Luddites worried that artificial intelligence will somehow make human beings obsolete or begin to distort our perception of reality in strange, terrifying new ways. Now, a team of Japanese computer scientists has taken things one step further into the nightmare realm by developing an AI that can literally see your thoughts. As usual, I just have to wonder: what could go wrong? As usual, Continue Reading

Water-Powered Car Inventor Dies in A Restaurant Screaming ‘They Poisoned Me’

Did you know that water-powered cars have existed for years? If you didn’t, it’s probably because they haven’t been given proper media coverage. What’s even odder, their inventors were either intimidated into ceasing their work, or died under mysterious circumstances. Among the latter was Stanley Meyer, a US inventor who designed a water fuel device, claiming that any car fitted with it could run purely on water. It was believed that this vehicle could run across the USA on 22 gallons of water. Meyer specifically emphasized that tap water, purified or salt water could be used as fuel for the engine. Continue Reading

‘I’m A Defeated Man. I Wanted To Illuminate The Whole Earth. ” Tesla Says In Near End-Of-Life Interview

Nikola Tesla was born in Croatia and only came to the US at the age of 28. Even though his English was not perfect, he was fluent in 8 different languages: Serbo-Croatian, English, Czech, German, French, Hungarian, Italian and Latin. Linguists refer to such a person as a “hyper polyglot”, or someone who can speak more than six languages with great proficiency. The following interview dates back to 1899: Tesla: Yes, these are some of my most important discoveries. I’m a defeated man. I have not accomplished the greatest thing I could. Journalist: What is it, Mr. Tesla? Tesla: I wanted Continue Reading

Here’s How to Delete Yourself from the Internet – at the Click of a Button

In our smartphone-obsessed digital age, we effectively live our entire lives online, which makes us increasingly vulnerable to unseen threats.  Cyber crime, fraud and identity theft are exponentially growing concerns. Our personal lives, locations, and increasingly our passwords are made public online for anyone to find. If the highly invasive Investigatory Powers Bill (AKA the Snooper’s Charter) isn’t blocked, then every single digital move you make will be recorded for up to 12 months. Also, infinite junk mails. But erasing your digital trace from the World Wide Web can seem overwhelming, especially since each person has on average 1,000,000,000 preferences, passwords, subscriptions and linked accounts. So how would you Continue Reading

Experts Claim Earth’s Magnetic Poles Overdue to Flip: ‘Could Cause Chaos in Everything’

Scientists are only just beginning to comprehend the dramatic impact that magnetic fields have on our lives, and indeed all life on earth. And now, they fear that the poles are rapidly shifting, and could indeed flip in our lifetimes. A state of constant change, and the potential for drastic shifts, has made airline travel, communications, the electric, satellites and other infrastructure incredibly vulnerable. Some of the effects have already been experienced on a low level, and we should take heed of the warnings they give. Eerily, the very forces of electromagnetism that are used in communications, physics and other branches Continue Reading

Your Brain Has What Amounts to a “Spirit Eject” Button

If someone zaps a certain area in your brain, you will experience floating out of your body. A similar effect can be obtained by transferring your self awareness into another person or object by hijacking your brain’s “this is me” body cues such as visual perception, breathing and heartbeat.  Olaf Blanke, a neurosurgeon at University Hospitals of Geneva and Lausanne, wasn’t trying to set off the sensations in his patient but was using electrical stimulation to map the activity of her brain in preparation for surgical treatment. But by recording the patient’s reactions and matching them with specific electrodes, Blanke was Continue Reading

This Creepy Patent Proves They Can Remotely Hijack Your Nervous System [Video]

[embedded content] Most people do not have any idea as to how ‘the powers that should not be’ have managed to manipulate and control their population. It’s seems just too nefarious to most to even imagine that there is actually technology out there that has the sole purpose …to control. Well, watch this video and you will be brought further down the rabbit hole of truth ..and it’s a not a very pretty one. There’s a reason they call it Television “Programming” …. Scientists Just Observed Epigenetic Memories Being Passed Down for 14 Generations

Scientists have made some incredible new discoveries on how our minds can literally affect our biology, especially through the study of epigenetics, the branch of science that looks at how inherited changes of phenotype (appearance) or gene expression are caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence. Instead of looking at DNA as the only factor controlling our biology, scientists are also looking at what’s actually controlling the DNA, which includes our thoughts. We receive genetic instructions from our DNA, passed down through generations, but the environment we live in can also make genetic changes. One of the Continue Reading

Working Fusion Reactor May Have Solved World’s Energy Crisis

Harnessing the power of nuclear fusion may require holding on to a little heat, about 100 million degrees Celsius (180 million degrees Fahrenheit) or so, but for a team out of the UK, it’s no big deal. Tokamak Energy, a British energy company, has built a working fusion reactor which has the potential to heat plasma up to 100 million degrees Centigrade, which is about seven times hotter than the Sun’s core. Why so hot? At that temperature, hydrogen atoms begin to fuse into helium; the result is a massive surge of limitless clean energy. According to Tokamak’s CEO, Dr. David Continue Reading

Breakthrough Artificial Photosynthesis Cleans Polluted Air, Makes Energy

An invention by scientists at the University of Central Florida turns greenhouse gases into clean air, producing fuel at the same time. By mixing titanium with organic molecules, they created metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) tuned to blue light. These ‘light-harvesting antennae’ created reactions which turned CO2 into two reduced forms of carbon, formate and formamides, described as two kinds of solar fuel. … the system could one day be set up next to facilities that emit large amounts of carbon dioxide, where it would capture the CO2 and break it down into harmless organic materials, creating solar fuel in the process. … Continue Reading
