2015: A Fully Transparent Solar Cell: This Could Make All Windows & Screens A Power Source

Another incredible technology has been invented by researchers at Michigan State University: a fully transparent solar concentrator which has the capability of turning any window or sheet of glass into a photovoltaic solar cell. Just think about the possibilities! You could keep your phone charged whenever you are outdoors or in the sun, power gadgets inside your home, and power functions on your car such as air conditioning. According to lead researcher Richard Lunt, the team is confident that these transparent solar connectors can be efficiently used in numerous settings from “tall buildings with lots of windows or any kind of mobile device that demands high aesthetic quality like a phone or e-reader.” Doesn’t This Already Exist? Some of the other solar cell technologies that have come out claiming to be transparent, simply put, aren’t. Many have been trying to create such a thing, but it is a tough technology […] Read More

2017: Breakthrough Artificial Photosynthesis Cleans Polluted Air, Makes Energy

An invention by scientists at the University of Central Florida turns greenhouse gases into clean air, producing fuel at the same time. By mixing titanium with organic molecules, they created metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) tuned to blue light. These ‘light-harvesting antennae’ created reactions which turned CO2 into two reduced forms of carbon, formate, and formamides, described as two kinds of solar fuel. … the system could one day be set up next to facilities that emit large amounts of carbon dioxide, where it would capture the CO2 and break it down into harmless organic materials, creating solar fuel in the process. … ‘This work is a breakthrough,’ said UCF Assistant Professor Fernando Uribe-Romo. ‘Tailoring materials that will absorb a specific color of light is very difficult from the scientific point of view… While scientists have long investigated the idea, it’s remained difficult to find a way for visible light to […] Read More

2017: Planet Earth makes its own water from scratch deep in the mantle

Our planet may be blue from the inside out. Earth’s huge store of water might have originated via chemical reactions in the mantle, rather than arriving from space through collisions with ice-rich comets. This new water may be under such pressure that it can trigger earthquakes hundreds of kilometers below Earth’s surface – tremors whose origins have so far remained unexplained. That’s the upshot of a computer simulation of reactions in Earth’s upper mantle between liquid hydrogen and quartz, the most common and stable form of silica in this part of the planet. “This is one way water can form on Earth,” says team member John Tse at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. “We show it’s possible to have water forming in Earth’s natural environment, rather than being of extraterrestrial origin.” The simple reaction takes place at about 1400 °C and pressures 20,000 times higher than atmospheric pressure […] Read More

2014: The Green Goons Want To Convert Your Grandmothers Remains Into Earth Friendly Soylent Snacks

Why use precious real estate to bury your beloved family members when these grotesque inhuman dirtbags will convert them into fertilizer. This is going beyond the extremes, will you remember your precious family whenever you pull vegetables from their corpses? How can someone even try to bring this idea to fruition? Anyone in their right mind who has a shred of humanity left might get violent when you bring your ‘concept’ to them at the local town hall. You’d be lucky to get out of there alive. I am very disgusted but not surprised. Will the green goon’s hand over their precious pets that they love more than people over to their grave gardens? I regard most people who hand over their elders to these miniature retirement prisons scum but this angers me. The Chicago Tribune sadly brings us this filth, “The greenest goodbye: Seattle group wants to compost […] Read More
