2002: WAS ROBERT KENNEDY’S ASSASSIN BRAINWASHED?

By Gordon Thomas Copyright Globe-Intel Report September 4, 2002 California’ Supreme Court is considering ordering a new trial into one of the most sensational crimes in America – the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy, brother of the murdered President, John F Kennedy. The Court has been given explosive new testimony that Robert Kennedy’s assassin, Palestinian-born Sirhan Sirhan, was “programmed through hypnosis and brainwashed to carry out the crime”. A new trial will seriously embarrass both the CIA and FBI – under increasing fire for the cover-up of their failure in last September’s terror attacks. The most likely date for the trial would fall during President Bush’s run-up to re-election. His own father was Congressman during the murder of Robert Kennedy and later became CIA director. Its files on the assassination have never been made public. Sirhan’s attorney, Lawrence Teeter, a respected Civil Rights lawyer, has spent eight years gathering […] Read More

1964: FBI file links Kennedy to Monroe’s death

BOBBY KENNEDY’S affair with the screen idol Marilyn Monroe has been documented, but a secret FBI file suggests the late US attorney-general was aware of – and perhaps even a participant in – a plan “to induce” her suicide. The detailed three-page report implicates the Hollywood actor Peter Lawford, Monroe’s psychiatrist, staff and her publicist in the plot. The allegations suggest the 36-year-old actress, who had a history of staging attention-seeking suicide attempts, was deliberately given the means to fake another suicide on August 4, 1962. But this time, it is suggested, she was allowed to die as she sought help. The document, hidden among thousands of pages released under freedom-of-information laws last October, was received by the FBI on October 19, 1964 – two years after her death – and titled simply “ROBERT F KENNEDY“. It was compiled by an unnamed former special agent working for the then […] Read More

2006: Did the CIA kill Bobby Kennedy?

In 1968, Robert Kennedy seemed likely to follow his brother, John, into the White House. Then, on June 6, he was assassinated – apparently by a lone gunman. But Shane O’Sullivan says he has evidence implicating three CIA agents in the murder At first, it seems an open-and-shut case. On June 5 1968, Robert Kennedy wins the California Democratic primary and is set to challenge Richard Nixon for the White House. After midnight, he finishes his victory speech at the Ambassador hotel in Los Angeles and is shaking hands with kitchen staff in a crowded pantry when 24-year-old Palestinian Sirhan Sirhan steps down from a tray-stacker with a “sick, villainous smile” on his face and starts firing at Kennedy with an eight- shot revolver. As Kennedy lies dying on the pantry floor, Sirhan is arrested as the lone assassin. He carries the motive in his shirt-pocket (a clipping about […] Read More

2007: How Bobby betrayed Marilyn

March 17, 2007 The FBI‘s secret account of the actress’s death suggests an eye-popping conspiracy, writes Philippe Mora. HISTORY is a continuum but there are various events you can put a pin in that have a huge effect on the future. The world changed forever for a generation after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, followed a few years later by the murders of his brother Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King. The strange prologue to these turning points is the death of Marilyn Monroe. Despite thousands of books, films, reports and stories in all media, these tragic events remain a source of unanswered questions for pop culture and for serious scholars. The best history comes from primary documents from the time that offer a contemporary snapshot, not filtered by passing decades. Last October the FBI released thousands of documents from its 20th century files under the […] Read More
