The Lies Change but the Murder Never Stops

“Bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity,” as the old phrase goes. Once again our imperial elitists are “making the case” to utilize instruments of death and destruction against a country thousands of miles away that has not attacked us. In order, we are told, to bring about more peace and less death. Let us ponder that logic once more. Western powers — who are already steeped in historical and contemporary blood-letting of monstrous magnitude — are once again trying to justify their latest illegal imperial venture in noble terms: of military necessity and moral superiority. And that we — who have no right to interfere in another country — will bring less murder and destruction through engaging in more murder and destruction. Even though a year of such apparent bombing in Iraq and Syria has not only not brought peace, it has made the situation worse, and […] Read More

“We must do something!”

“We must do something!” is often heard today in relation to the terrorist group known as ISIS. It’s very true, we should do something, but let’s think for a minute about what “we” already did. ISIS did not exist until after the illegal war in Iraq, which “our” government supported. Al Qaeda had no significant presence in Iraq until the US/UK governments killed over a million Iraqis, destroyed their country, crushed their army and then, their oil fields safely back under “our” control, abandoned the Iraqi people. An Al Qaeda group established itself in the power vacuum, which then evolved into ISIS. So that’s what “we” already did. ISIS is “ours”; “we” created it, firstly through “our” iniquitous foreign policies, then with “our” arms sales and other material and financial support to a multitude of despicable allies in the region, and then with military training and other assistance from […] Read More

2015: Uncovering the Mystery 7,000-year-old Ubaid Lizardmen

Just about every mythology, you’ll find something in the line that God created human beings. Creation doesn’t mean creating something from scratch – This is true for the statute discovered 7,000 years old. Al-Ubaid is an Arab tribe in Iraq who settled in Kirkuk. During the 18th century, the tribe has migrated from the Baghdad area to Khabour and Hawija. Contracted to protect the oil pipelines, it has faced lots of consequences. At the Al-Ubaid’s Archaeological site, researchers have found several pre-Sumerian artifacts a way back 7,000 years. These items have strange looking statutes being discovered, which happens to be a combination of lizard-like and human features combined. Unfortunately, little is known about the civilization. However, its influence may be seen in different Sumerian culture aspects. After a while, it developed into a flourishing city. The Strange Lizard-Like and Human Features The Mystery 7,000-year-old Ubaid Lizardmen covers the humanoid […] Read More

This Is the Real Human Toll of the Western ‘War on Terror’

The United States has been at war since October 2001, and this week marked the 12th anniversary of the beginning of its most deadly campaign in Iraq. The toll to American society has certainly been severe: diminishing civil liberties, rising Islamophobia, thousands of soldiers killed and tens of thousands more wounded, and trillions of dollars spent. But the worst consequences have been for the countries that have been subject to bombings, invasions, occupations, and sectarian strife touched off by the rapid collapse of established order. There have been few and feeble attempts to estimate the human toll paid by countries in the Middle East and South Asia, where the majority of violence in the war on terror has taken place. Until now. Physicians for Social Responsibility, Physicians for Global Survival and International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War released a 97-page report this week that seeks to deliver a long-awaited […] Read More

If You See A Terrorist Say Something, FBI Warns After Busting ISIS Threat To “Kill President Of US”

With the invasion of Syria, pardon, the “Islamic State” on behalf of US allies in the middle east imminent, it is time to send the fear meter to Max, and spook the US population with the reminder that far from being expert, Hollywood-quality video editors, ISIS is engaged in not only in selective, carefully sponsored and funded beheadings several thousand miles away, but is operating right under everyone nose. According to an FBI announcement today, “a criminal complaint was unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn charging Abdurasul Hasanovich Juraboev, Akhror Saidakhmetov, and Abror Habibov with attempt and conspiracy to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a foreign terrorist organization. The initial appearances of Juraboev and Saidakhmetov are scheduled for later today before United States Magistrate Judge Lois Bloom at the U.S. Courthouse, 225 Cadman Plaza East, Brooklyn, New York. Habibov’s initial appearance […] Read More

Outsourcing Atrocity: The School of the Americas and the C.O.I.N. Fundamentalists

“What policymakers believe to have taken place in any particular case is what matters, more than what actually occurred.” —David Petraeus, “American Military and the Lessons of Vietnam” America’s recent wars have been fought based on a doctrine tested throughout the Western Hemisphere in the second half of the 20th century and taught at the controversial School of the Americas. It may have changed its name to the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHISC), and added a patina of human rights training, but a pig wearing lipstick is still a pig, as the 2009 coup in Honduras led by alumni of the school shows. Since its founding in 1946, the School of the Americas has trained tens of thousands of police and military personnel in Latin America and the Caribbean. Not by coincidence, its graduates were involved in some of the worst atrocities of the 20th century – […] Read More

The Only Way To Stop The Empire

Submitted by Dmitry Orlov via Club Orlov blog, The final days of US empire are fast approaching. Perhaps its end will pass slowly and gradually, or perhaps the event will unfold rapidly and catastrophically. Maybe chaos will break loose, or maybe its demise will be organized well and proceed smoothly. This nobody knows, but the end of empire is coming as surely as day follows night and sun follows rain. Overexpansion, overreach and over-indebtedness will take their toll—as all past empires have discovered. Empires are like bacteria in a Petrie dish; unthinking, unseeing, unfeeling, they expand until they run out of food or contaminate their environment with their waste, and then they die. They are automatons, and they just can’t help it: they are programmed to expand or die, expand or die, and, in the end, expand and die. What does the empire feed on? It feeds on money […] Read More

2014: How Seeing the Internet as Reality Fuels Murderous ISIL Success and Recruitment

It isn’t ISIS that radicalizes Muslims before they head off to Syria, but the Internet. Ever since the Pentagon started talking about Isis as apocalyptic, I’ve suspected that websites and blogs and YouTube are taking over from reality. I’m even wondering whether “Isis” – or Islamic State or Isil, here we go again – isn’t more real on the internet than it is on the ground. Not, of course, for the Kurds of Kobani or the Yazidis or the beheaded victims of this weird caliphate. But isn’t it time we woke up to the fact that internet addiction in politics and war is even more dangerous than hard drugs? Over and over, we have the evidence that it is not Isis that “radicalizes” Muslims before they head off to Syria – and how I wish David Cameron would stop using that word – but the internet. The belief, the […] Read More

The American Public: A Tough Soldier Or A Chicken Hawk Cowering In A Cubicle?

Submitted by Mike Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog, You gotta love the American public sometimes. For a mass of people so easily terrified by guys in caves funded and armed by our intelligence services and “allies” in the Persian Gulf, the same public talks with such armchair bravado when it comes to launching bombs from drones and sending other people’s children to die. Makes you wonder though, which one is it? Is the American public actually the tough guy soldier it pretends to be when cheering overseas military interventions, or is it really a scared, propagandized, coward hiding in one of our nation’s endless cubicle rows? Unfortunately, based on recent opinion polls demonstrating approval for military action against ISIS, it appears to be the latter. The former is merely a front put on by that terrified, economically insecure, silently suffering automaton. I really wish this weren’t the case. “ISIS as the new enemy” is a meme that has made me […] Read More
