Charles Fort’s X-Men

One of Charles Fort’s books which I haven’t spent a lot of time within the past is his final one; Wild Talents. In this work, Fort collects reports and accounts of human beings with occult or paranormal gifts or powers. If he had been so inclined, Fort might have collected these individuals together and formed his own ‘School for Gifted Youngsters’. For those not aware, the school is the headquarters and training grounds of Marvel’s X-Men. At this school, Charles Xavier (Professor X) recruits mutants, beings with incredible powers, and teaches them to harness and control their powers so that they can live in harmony with human beings. Though Professor X and his school may be fictional, Fort documents case after case of people in the real world who exhibit similar kinds of amazing feats. OK, so you don’t have a guy with claws coming out of his hands […] Read More

2014: Thoughtography

Probably because I’m a huge fan of Spiderman, I was interested in photography from an early age. At one point I had even considered a career in photography, until I realized how bad I am at composition and how much talent is required to be a photographer. In high school I took a photography class and really enjoyed it, but it was obvious that it was not for me. Coincidentally within the realm of the paranormal there is a different kind of photography which I was recently reminded of; (real talk it was because I spent the weekend marathoning The X-Files) Psychic Photography or ‘Thoughtography’. The origins of this particular psychic expression seems to be with a Japanese Psychologist named Tomokichi Fukurai. Fukurai was an assistant professor of psychology at Tokyo University around the turn of the 20th century, around 1910 or so. He was the first to recognize […] Read More

Water, Water, Everywhere!

I was skimming back through my copy of Fort’s The Book of the Damned as I often do, when I happened upon another fascinating phenomena which Fort describes and, in his unique humorist way, theorizes on a possible explanation for. In Lo!, Fort relates tale after tale of water seemingly manifesting within closed rooms with no external source apparent. In almost every case, it seems that great care was taken to attempt to track down where the water might be originating from, but none could be found. In nearly every case of this mysterious water manifestation, there was other strange phenomena occurring as well, and not entirely unlike poltergeist phenomena, young children are often in the vicinity of the water outbreaks. As if that were not enough, Fort also finds reports of water manifesting in isolated spots outside as well, usually focusing on a single tree. Classic Examples Fort […] Read More

Enfield Poltergeist

Stories of poltergeist activity have been an interest of mine, perhaps more so than other kinds of alleged “hauntings”. This stems mostly from some of the evident peculiarities and similarities amongst the cases. This is just a short review, but the phenomenon almost always begins as a tapping or knocking sound that is heard. This is where we get the term from anyway, it roughly translates from German into English as ‘noisy-ghost or spirit’. The phenomenon is usually focused on a pubescent child in the home, almost exclusively a girl. This fact has lead some Parapsychologists to theorize that the Poltergeist Phenomenon may actually originate from the mind of the child in the form of recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis. The idea is that perhaps as these girls are undergoing the normal process of development, the stress and/or hormones causes the girls to unconsciously act out in less than normal ways […] Read More

Remote Viewing: Is Peering into the Matrix Possible?

Remote viewing is the ability to use extrasensory perception to access information from sources remote in space and time. Simply put, it is using psychic ability to fish information out of the matrix (akashic field, univeral source field, or ether). There are many techniques, different structures and protocols to follow and there are definite skills and rules to be learned in order to practice remote viewing effectively. Anyone interested in life beyond the material world should have a look at remote viewing. Here’s a video where remote viewing is briefly explained and put on trial: Remote viewers admit that as little as 20% of the information gathered may be correct and that the psychic information needs to be combined with other sources of information. Working with groups of remote viewers will increase the chance that the results will be accurate. This may sound very unreal and/or unlikely, so what […] Read More

A Psychic Warning

By A. CONSTANTINE, ESQ. Reply by H. P. Blavatsky Can any of the numerous readers of the Theosophist enlighten me as to the influence that acted on me on the occasion alluded to below? I certainly emphatically deny that there was a spirit manifestation, but there was beyond doubt some singular agency at work, which I have not up to this time been able to comprehend or explain. After having been in a certain school with another boy of about the same age as myself we parted, and only met again after the lapse of about thirty-five years. It was at Agra, where he was a Deputy Collector and I, head-clerk in the same office. Our friendship was renewed, and we soon became very much attached to each other; in fact, we had no secrets between us. Thus we continued to be for several years, and almost every day […] Read More

Haunted Romania – the Hoia-Baciu Forest

Right in the heart of the Ardeal region, in a place with an epoch appearance, we can, probably, find one of the most mysterious locations of Romania. A lot of ink has flown on the subject of the Hoia-Baciu Forest, just as many steps of curious people have passed this gate “between worlds” with the hope of catching a bit of paranormal. Some of them have really had some inexplicable experiences that make even the most courageous people shiver. The scientific explorers can not help it and seem to be tied and bound, leaving the speculations, that inflame the imagination of the paranormal phenomena fans, free. The Hoia-Baciu Forest is, for sure, one of the most famous locations in Romania, where a series of inexplicable phenomena have been investigated and analyzed. It is called “the Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania”. It has become famous since 1968. However, the locals […] Read More

2011: ‘UFO’ sightings above crop circle fields

Wed, August 31 2011 By John Garvey, Reporter Email: newburytoday@newburynews.co.uk Phone: 01635 564528   Unexplained lights appear above West Woodhay crop circle land AFTER the crop circle has come the almost obligatory UFO sighting. This spectacular formation appeared overnight on July 28 in a field at West Woodhay. It immediately attracted hundreds of sightseers and simultaneously earned the ire of landowner Harry Henderson, who dismissed it as the work of trespassers. But even those artists who lay claim to some of the designs that appear in the fields each year have seen strange lights associated with the formations. Now Newbury businesswoman Bonni Southey has reported unexplained light phenomena after she decided to visit the area. She said: “We were having a look to see if the crop circle was still there. Looking across to the horizon above and to the right of the crop circle formation we saw first […] Read More
