America’s Second Revolution

By Sami Jamil Jadallah on February 16, 2016 If The Founding Fathers were alive today, for sure they would call on the nation to revolt and rise not against Great Britain but a against a political and economic system that went awry, far from the idea of what they had in mind. Bernie Sanders is right when he calls for a social, political and economic revolution that will shape the future of the nation for the next hundred years. By the way every country needs some kind of political and economic revolution at least once every hundred years. America’s time is now. While the last 100 years of the nation history saw a major breakthrough in our political and economic systems from women suffrage to Roe vs. Wade, to the Civil Rights Act of 68 to the Great Depression and FDR answer “ the New Deal” with investment in […] Read More

The Top Moves That the 1% Uses to Maintain Dominance

George Lakey, Waging Nonviolence Guest Gandhi confronted a number of adversaries in his day, including a world empire. He sometimes called them “a worthy opponent” — one that used shrewd strategy to try to defeat his movement. Even though Gandhi was deeply concerned with ethical issues, he didn’t think that taking a moral stand excused him from the need to strategize. That meant paying attention to the moves coming at him. In keeping with my last two columns on this subject (see part one and part two), here are five more of the economic elite’s favorite moves, as it seeks to maintain dominance in the United States and elsewhere. Create a lesser-of-two-evils choice When the nonviolent campaign against the Keystone XL pipeline upset the “done deal” between Canada and the United States, a flurry of discussion took place among environmentalists. A prominent expert took to the airwaves to argue […] Read More

Sometimes You’re Better Off Breaking The Law. But When?

What exactly is civil disobedience? It’s a tricky one to define. But, for the sake of ease, let’s just say it like this: Civil disobedience is the performance of an illegal act which is directed in some way against the government, for whatever reason. Sometimes, civil disobedience is also known as “non-violent direct action.” Just remember, there’s a difference between just breaking the law, and disobeying it. If you decide to drive your car home from the bar after drinking seven beers, it is not an act of civil disobedience. Why not? Because your action is not aimed at trying to change some law within our government. You are simply driving home drunk because you don’t want to wait for a taxi, right? People who carry out acts of civil disobedience usually want to make something “better” for the whole of society, not just for themselves. It’s also worth noting that civilly disobedient […] Read More

Transhumanism: The Anti-Human ‘Singularity’ Agenda

by URI DOWBENKO (NEW DAWN MAGAZINE) (11-10-14) Transcendence: The Anti-Human Agenda of the Singularity Cult At a TED-like techno-geek symposium in the 2014 film Transcendence, Artificial Intelligence guru Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is asked by an audience member, “So you want to create your own god?” And he answers, “Isn’t that what man has always done?” This smarmy remark is indicative of the hubris and arrogance of scientism, the belief that science can solve all the problems on this planet, while scientists can have fun playing god at the same time. It could also have been the answer of Real-Life Techno-Wizard Ray Kurzweil, Google’s Director of Engineering, whose book The Singularity is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology (2005), is ever so popular with scientific materialists who neither have the capacity nor the desire for spiritual evolution, but have a fervent belief that the shotgun marriage of man and […] Read More

7 Signs You May be a Victim of Statism

Gary ‘Z’ McGee, Staff Writer Waking Times “The State is the name of the coldest of all cold monsters. Coldly it lies; and this lie slips from its mouth: I, the state, am the people.” –Friedrich Nietzsche Truth: the pill everyone wants, but just can’t seem to swallow. The truth behind the vicious lies of statism and its cultish tendencies happens to be one of those jagged little pills that people can’t seem to swallow. Statism has become the most all-pervasive ism of them all. It is the predominant world religion. Almost every country practices it. It is, in fact, the worst form of religion: a deadly cult. It meets every single one of the characteristics associated with cultic groups according to Janja Lalich, Ph.D. & Michael D. Langone, Ph.D. Influence and control lie at the center of the state. More than likely we were all born into such […] Read More
